Installing Hikvision Software
After extracting the downloaded package from the above-provided links, launch the Hikvision Setup file. You need to confirm with your system that you want to start the installation wizard. At the first instance, you will be asked to read the license agreement and accept it to continue.
Now select the facilities you would like to benefit from within the CMS. If you are only trying the view the live feeds, you can simply select the Client installation. Else, you also need to select Storage Server and Stream Media Server facilities by checking their perspective boxes.
After clicking on the Install button, you will be required to wait for a couple of seconds, until the installation progress bar is completed.
Once the installation process is completed, check the “Launch iVMS-4200” and “Create desktop shortcuts” boxes, before clicking on the Finish button.
An Hikvision Login is required to proceed to the Client’s dashboard. So if you currently don’t have an Hikvision account, you can follow a simple procedure to create one. Simple, type “admin” inside the username and add a password of your choice. Now click on the Login button and answer some security questions to complete the account registration process.
To proceed in the process of device configuration, you have to select Device Manager from the left pane of the software instance. The Client’s control panel/dashboard allows you to navigate to different configuration tabs. You can simply select any tab depending upon your current requirements.
From the next instance, all you have to do is to click on the + Add button and wait until a new device configuration popup appears.
Select the same Adding mode that’s currently running on your DVR. Afterward, enter the required details in the perspective fields and hit the Add button.
Hikvision Cloud Configuration
If you have selected CloudP2P as Adding mode, because your DVR is running on the Cloud, you will have to follow a different procedure. First, you need to select the country/region of live footage and click on the Login button.
Enter your Hikvision Cloud account details, before clicking on the Login button. This will attach your cloud account with the DVR software. However, if you don’t own such an account, you can click on the Register button to create one.
Finally, your Hikvision DVR will be added to the device list available inside the Device Manager tab. You can customize the device details and protocols whenever you want to.
Hikvision – Live Video Monitring
Once the DVR configuration is successful, you will be allowed to watch the live feeds directly from the cloud servers/IPs. To access such a facility, you will have to navigate back to the control panel of Hikvision DVR Software for PC. From there, click on the Main View tab to proceed. The live feed of Hikvision cameras will be shown to you inside the right pane.
